TITD has obtained details of brief Roses footage to be screened in a new film documenting the rise of Britpop, to be released in the UK next year.
Xfm informed TITD that the film only contains brief footage of the crowd prior to the gig:
"...there is precious little footage of the Spike Island gig. Just onstage and overhead photos, with a tiny bit of film of the audience before the Roses played (presumably shot by one of the audience as it's a tad shaky)."
Click here for further information on the film, entitled Live Forever, sent to TITD by Xfm.
The Very Best Of The Stone Roses and Ian Brown's Remix Of The Spheres are both released in the shops.
The chances of John Squire playing Roses songs on his forthcoming tour have increased greatly, if last Thursday's Xfm session is anything to go by. To the surprise of everyone, he performed Waterfall, the first time he has ever played a Roses song since leaving the band. He also played two songs (Time Changes Everything and All I Really Want) from his forthcoming album. All 3 songs can be heard by visiting the Xfm website. Click here for a direct link to the songs.

John Squire has stated in an interview with Planet Sound (Channel 4 Teletext, p451) that he believes the Roses will get together to do another album and tour.
An extract from the interview (to come tomorrow) reads:
"I don't want to do a reunion tour because that would be putting matters to rest in the wrong way. If we were to reform, it would have to be to make a new album and do a proper tour with new songs. I believe that will happen one day."
TITD has received a promo of the full Squire album from Hall Or Nothing.
John Squire releases his debut solo album, Time Changes Everything, on September 16th 2002, Hall Or Nothing have revealed. Hall Or Nothing told TITD that the album needs "one or two minor finishing touches to it."
TITD will soon be exclusively receiving three tracks from the album, finished mixes but not mastered.
Hall Or Nothing sent TITD a John Squire biography, which can be viewed here. TITD was also informed that John took part in a five minute phone conversation with NME, details of which will be revealed by NME tomorrow.
TITD was mentioned on http://www.xfm.co.uk for the third time in 48 hours.

Silvertone are set to release a Greatest Hits of the Roses work in late October, XFM have announced. All four Roses are contributing to this project, albeit seperately, helping re-master the tracks and overseeing the complete package. The original tapes are being remastered at Abbey Road Studios by Chris Blair and John Leckie (who both worked on the band’s classic 1989 debut).
Squire will be supplying new artwork for the package, which will also include a new booklet documenting the band’s history. It is unlikely that any new material will be released.

As well as revealing details of John Squire's comeback, he states that:
- he disagreed with the decision to release Second Coming at Christmas.

Simon Dawson, the producer who saw Second Coming through to its conclusion, has revealed exclusively to TITD that John Squire is to make a comeback. Simon reveals in the interview with this site that he has just finished recording John Squire's first solo album, and that we should expect it to be released later this year, or early next year. This is an extract from the upcoming interview:
Q14) How would you describe and rate John Squire's singing ? On what other occasions, if any, apart from Tightrope and the Your Star Will Shine demos, have you heard him sing ? Do any recordings exist ?
John's got a great voice. I've just finished recording his first solo album.
Q15) Really ?! Can you let us know when it is likely to be released ?
Should be out later this year or early next year.
