Top row: Ian Brown often claims in interviews that he and Dave McCracken were asked to write a song for Rihanna - Stellify - but decided to keep it for himself. At the 2008 Oxegen festival, Ian sang a snippet of Rihanna's Umbrella: Now that it's raining more than ever / Know that we'll still have each other / Said I'd always be your friend. (Ian sang the second of these lines as "You can tickle me with a feather"). In an NME October 2009 feature, Ian interviewed hip-hop mogul Jay-Z, whose "Comin' down like the Dow Jones" lyric from Umbrella seems to have been lifted by Ian on Illegal Attacks ("Down with the Dow Jones, up on the Nasdaq").
Second row & bottom: The deep red tone within one of John Squire's 2011 Celebrity artworks prompted him to name the work 'Rihanna' (ink & oil on canvas, 70cm x 90cm), thoughtful of the Barbadian singer's fiery red hair.

"And so we're miles above our ribbon in the sky" is very close to "Striding through the clouds on my ribbon in the sky", from Tightrope.
