John Squire
Room In Brooklyn
New single released 2nd February 2004
John Squire will release 'Room In Brooklyn' on February 2nd 2004, the first single to be taken from the forthcoming album 'Marshall's House' released on February 16th.
Available on CD and limited edition numbered 7" vinyl, 'Room In Brooklyn' will be backed with the new track 'Nighthawks'. Talking of the new material Squire says "I realised how effective a simple riff can be. I wanted there to be a strong vein through this record of the good old repetition of rock & roll.... I wanted it to sound raw."
Prior to the release of 'Marshall's House', the ICA will hold the first ever exhibition of John Squire's artwork. From February 14th to the 16th, the exhibition will include the paintings which have graced the covers of albums and singles from The Stone Roses and The Seahorses through to John's current solo material. Entry is free with ICA day membership (£1.50 Mon - Fri, £2.50 weekends). The gallery is open from midday until 7.30pm. The ICA is situated on The Mall. Nearest tubes are Piccadilly Circus / Charing Cross. For further information, the ICA's box office number is 020 7930 3647.
